End of the Growing Season: Tomatoes

So, we’ve had our first frost, and my tomato plants have bit the dust.  BUT, I picked everything that looked like it might ripen in my kitchen, and I have both photos and final numbers.

I harvested 39 pounds of grape tomatoes from my garden this year, and I didn’t pick the completely green ones in the garden (I don’t care for fried green tomatoes!), so this is JUST ripe or near ripe tomatoes.

Isn’t that amazing?  I’m thrilled!

And some photos of the final extend of how my tomatoes spread:

They took over EVERYTHING!   Isn’t that wild?

How did your garden fare this year?  Inquiring minds want to know!  *smile*

  1. I harvest my green tomatoes for green tomato chili and to pickle with garlic! Hate to waste them!

  2. I strongly dislike green tomatoes, but I’ll admit it did make me sad seeing all the unripe tomatoes sad and destroyed by the frost.
