Should I Share? Finding Your Voice Practice Pieces

I was going through my things, and I ran into a class I took part of, one of Holly Lisle’s, on learning your writing voice.  The actual name of the class is ‘Find Your Writing Voice: 24 Hour Intensive Workshop’, and while it fell to the wayside in favor of writing my novel, I did do twelve or so of the practices and was very pleased with the results.

I’ve found her classes to be hugely helpful, and it occurred to me that I could post some of these practices on my blog.  They’re not so long that they’re worth stealing (I hope), so, unlike my novel, I’m not worried about sharing them.

(As a side note, if you take a look at her classes and decide to buy one, let me know and I’ll send you my affiliate link.  Yes, she does do paid affiliate links where we get X percentage of the sale, and we can use every bit of help we can get.)

So, I’ll post a few of these here in between my normal posts, and you can see what my writing is like.  None of them are intended to be expanded further; they’re just practice.

Does that seem like something you’d be interested in?  I’ll post the first this week, and you can decide.  Keep in mind that these are pretty much rough drafts with the spelling fixed.  Let me know one way or another; are you indifferent?  Are you interested?  Inquiring minds want to know!

  1. Make sure your work is safe. In the years to come they may be something you want to publish as an Anthology.
