My mom made it through her surgery and is home! She has a foot long incision down her hip that’s glued shut with tape over it, but she said her pain went from an 8 to a 2 just from the relief of having the new joint.
Huzzah!
I was ridiculously worried about her to the point of distraction, snarling interactions, and tears.
We saw her yesterday, and it was SUCH a relief to know she was okay.
As a reminder, here’s what her hip looked like:
Even I can tell it’s in bad shape.
She has an entirely new joint now!
So glad things worked out, but I’m afraid to be so hopeful because it’s still months of recovery.
The first step is done though, so huzzah!
I had wonderful help from a great husband and 2 wonderful kids. Thank you for babysitting me when any movement caused my R hip to try to dislocate. Your help is greatly appreciated. God Bless.
