In 2013, I herniated my L4 disc and bulged my L5. It was, hands down, the most painful thing that has ever happened to me.
Lately, I’ve been having pain in my hip/butt area. I had a wellness exam coming up, so I waited for that.
Today was that appointment. It’s very painful if I’m leaning forward, and eases when I lean back. My (Awesome!) doctor looked things over and said it MIGHT be a pulled muscle. It was not my hip. But she suspected a bulging disc… probably L5 or S1.
Great.
So she gave me a set of exercises. Some of them are for the hypothetical pulled muscle. The rest are to try to mitigate a bulging disc.
So, time to drag the exercise ball and and get getting.
Not thrilled.
Gah, I have a bad back, and reading this already triggers the fear in me. I’ve learned that I had totally neglected my posterior chain, and am now constantly working on it. Anyway, wishing you all the best!
Thank you, and you as well! It’s no joke how painful it can get.
