In Which I Bake a Cake Badly and the Actual Star Is Tundra

It was my husband’s birthday on Friday, so I baked him a cake and something went horribly, horribly wrong.

Going back over my steps, I THINK I got distracted and didn’t put enough water in.

And then I didn’t know how to set the stove alarm correctly, so I THOUGHT I set it.

It never went off.

I eventually smelled it should be done and retrieved…. a very flat, hard cake?

The final product popped out of the pan in one solid… cookie?

Do you see Tundra in the bottom left? He was SUPER INTERESTED.

The bottom.

Like, he wanted that cake SO BAD.

Here he is, being a Good Boy for cake.

Here he is, reminding me that he, also, likes cake in a progressively cuter and more desperate manner.

… yes he got a piece of cake.

  1. Wow! I can’t believe the cake you baked looks like that. I”ve had a few fails in my lifetime. Some worse than that and we had to go out to eat. Diligence to baking helps. Here’s wishing your next attempt goes well. Gentle hugs.
