My husband went picking through the pallets and wood left from the previous owner and made us a wood box.
Total cost? Paint.
He found everything he needed in either junk left behind in the garage or jars of stuff in the basement. He even found matching hinges!
He still has to paint it, but here’s a look:

Even the bricks were sourced from our property. He used parts of two pallets for the most of it.
The box lets in air, but blocks rain.

I was really impressed he found everything he needed and how he managed to leave lots of room for air to reach stored wood and keep it dry.
All that’s left is picking out a paint color, because particle board has to be protected from the elements.
Isn’t he amazing!?!
