This is, flat out, the best place we visited during the entire trip.
There was a sinkhole that, well, trapped and killed a bunch a mammoths. And now they’re excavating them, but the cool thing is you WALK THROUGH THE EXCAVATION.

I think one is an actual skeleton, and the other is an example of the second type of mammoth at this site.
The bones are NOT fossils so are treated in place to keep them safe.
At the end, we bought two bags of Exotic South Dakotan Dirt… basically two bags of dirt that have surprises hidden inside.
And then we used their sluice to find all sorts of bones and semiprecious stones.
10/10 would absolutely go back here a million times. LOVED IT.
