Sunday was a busy day! We drove into Minnesota to look at a new car for my husband. And now, at least for a bit, we’re a three Subaru household! All of them dark blue. The one in front is the new one, a 2006 Legacy Sedan, then my 2001 Forester, and my husband’s 1997 Legacy Wagon.
My husband is SO HAPPY, and he now owns the newest car in our family – my parents, his parents, my brother, his sister, us.
Isn’t she pretty though? My husband had been watching Craigslist like a hawk – his current car still drove, so he could afford to wait for a good car. The owner posted at 8pm and my husband texted him at 11pm because he didn’t want to miss it!
It was a long drive, but the gentleman who sold it to us was nice, and everything was smooth, friendly, and up front. We were lucky to be the first people to see it… three people were scheduled after us!
It cost (so far, not including any needed repairs) us $3450. It’s scheduled to see our mechanic on Thursday, and my husband will register it tomorrow and add it to our insurance.
So, it did suck up most of my day, but I have the happiest husband ever.
And this is one of the reasons we were looking:
We literally had to pay to have parts of his wagon welded back together this fall because the driver’s side rear shock tower buckled. Enough is enough!
What kind of car do you have? Did you buy from a dealer or an owner? How was your experience? Inquiring minds want to know! *smile*
