This cold spell has been hard on the bird population, so we’ve started feeding again.
My husband took some photos for me, and the gold finches were going to town the other morning!
It was sleeting, but they didn’t care; they were all about the sunflower seeds!
And another photo:
They’re so cute!
I just hope they don’t think they’ll be getting this treatment all year!
Do you feed the birds? What species do you get where you are? We get quite a variety: Goldfinches, Nut Hatches, Tufted Titmouse, Robins, Cardinals, Starlings, Downy Woodpeckers, Red Headed Woodpeckers, Red Bellied Woodpeckers, P, Chickadees, English Sparrows, Purple Finches, House Finches… and these are just the ones we’ve seen at our feeders!
I’m debating if I’ll put out Jelly in the spring for the Orioles, or sugar water for the hummingbirds.
What do you think? Should I put out food for them? What tiny dinosaurs visit your feeders? Inquiring minds want to know!
