GreenStalks and Tomatoes and Venison, Oh My!

There was a GreenStalk sale, and the two new ones I ordered have arrived!

I also ordered bases, the plant supports, and a frost cover, not shown in this photo.

And I processed food today.

The pound or so of tomatoes went to my neighbor who traded a jar of canned venison for them. I think I got the better end of the deal, honestly!

The peppers I sliced for freezing.

The peas and beans, I blanched and froze.

I use my grandmother’s huge pot for projects like this. I didn’t need that much space, but I love this pot so much!

And in the freezer:

I’ll let them freeze, and then I’ll scrape them off the pans into sandwich sized bags. I put a bunch of like itemed sandwich bags in a gallon freezer bag to protect them, and this system has been working very well for me.

And that’s what I’ve been up to!
