I’m in the process of switching some of my more expensive medications over to Mark Cuban’s Cost Plus pharmacy website.
Usually I hit the donut hole in roughly late April or early May, but I’m hoping to avoid hitting it at all this year, especially since I’m pretty sure I’ll drop out of the MAPP program (a type of Medicaid) because our income went up a little.
So my medication that costs over $1000 retail, is $41 plus shipping out of pocket through Cost Plus.
My only complaint so far is that it takes a bit for a prescription to get filled the first time – be sure to have that prescription also ready at your normal pharmacy.
But since I’m paying out of pocket, if I want to fill twice in a month and get six months of medications stored, I can.
Since they’re expecting medication shortages in 2024, I think this will be a good option for me.
