Our Apples – Sooty Blotch and Flyspeck

Our apples look pretty awful.

I thought they were ruined, but looked them up online and found that it was likely Sooty Blotch and Flyspeck which are apparently the same fungus.

Found some information here.  They’re safe to eat, but they look terrible!

So I peeled one.

And sliced it.

And had lovely little apple pieces that tasted just fine!

And Tundra wanted some SO BAD, so I shared of course.

So I guess it’s how they say… beauty is on the inside!

Is this a problem you’ve dealt with before?  What did you do to resolve the issue?  Do you know how it can be avoided?  I’d like nice apples!  Inquiring minds want to know.
